Sentient Science opened offices around the world in 2017, including a new bearing research facility at Purdue University, an office in Pamplona, Spain and most recently, an office in Beijing, China.

The global expansions come after Sentient Science closed its Series B round of funding at $22 million from Georgian Partners out of Toronto, ON, bringing total investment into the company of more than $70 million from venture capital and the U.S. Government.

The office at Purdue University is home to Sentient Science’s bearing specialists, all Ph.Ds in mechanical engineering, materials science and tribology. It also houses Sentient’s laboratory equipment, which is used for its materials science analysis, which is a core modeling function of DigitalClone.

At the end of 2016, Sentient Science also closed its then largest Phase II agreement with Acciona Energia based in Pamplona, Spain. In early 2017, two employees from the Buffalo office, Data Scientist Aaron Soellinger and Implementations Manager Pedro Berges, PE, moved to Pamplona to work directly with Acciona on data ingestion and integration with the DigitalClone materials-based models. Data science from the operational data from the field are integrated with the materials-based models to provide a more accurate life prediction of the major systems and critical components of the field assets.  The office has grown from two employees to six, with the hiring of Alfonso Faubel, President of European Operations, Jorge Martinez, Business Development, Zurine Zugasti, Commercial Programs, and Miguel Lopez, Drivetrain Technical Lead.
